Can listeros provide info and/or references to drug usage in connection with Mesoamerican (and especially Mayan) ballgames?

Did ballplayers use drugs? Perhaps for ritual purposes? To induce visions or voices of gods or ancestors? To help them to endure the pain of injury or exhaustion? And if so, would doing so be expected to impair their ability to play? 

Is there evidence that prisoners intended for sacrifice were given drugs? Priests, kings, officials, or spectators?
