Wheels would have been of limited use for transport in the Maya area, 
not only because of the terrain but also due to the lack of draft 
animals.  Of course porters were in ample supply. We had a discussion 
of this on Aztlan a few months ago.
Whether wheels were used on the sacbeob might be another question.  I 
remember that heavy limestone rollers have been found near these 
causeways, so the principle is not in doubt, just its application.
