I visited the site of Calpulalpan/Sultepec in 2003 and was taken on an
unofficial tour by the site guard. There actually was very little
excavation outside of the temple/priestly precinct., which was small and
delimited at that time. I heard as well that INAH was in negotiation
with the local adjacent farm owner to extend the work. Clearly visible
on eroded areas were parts of puppet figurines a la Teotihuacan. I do
not recall seeing Postclassic style ceramics. I was shown the internal
well system. Was that where the conquest period Spanish artifacts were
found? I think the arqueologist involved was Enrique Martinez Vargas,
but I'm not sure.
