Yet the "stepping-stones" brought to place, one by one, one
step at a time, would serve as both path and access. No?

What kind of stone is it?
If limestone, why would the stone have had to then come from
the highlands?
If limestone, why not, as I suggested long before in regard to
Coba's lake being artificial, for the limestone having been
quarried within the vicinty? From, specifically, cenotes (or
even coves) artificially uncapped (or gouged out) of their
limestone to serve---like one stone killing two birds---for
the "stepped walkways" also?
