[Aztlan] Apocalypto

I disagree with most of the interpretations of the movie Apocalypto, I came away with a different view:  The movie showed the environmental damage the Maya caused using so much materials to stucco their buildings. The unjust rule of a corrupt militaristic/dynastic government. The use of religion to control the masses, no doubt these were some of the contributing factors in the Mayas collapse. To say the movie is negative towards the Maya is wrong, I grew up in L.A, and when I first saw New York I was Flabbergasted! They prisoners in the movie were out of their every day life not ignorant. The arrival of the Spanish reminded me that the end of their world was truly at an end not salvation.  M.F. Malo
