For some reason, Bruce Write's email came through just
fine on the moderators' inboxes (which is why it was
approved), but we received gibberish when it was sent
to the list.  If anyone else had this problem, Bruce's
question was (and I'm paraphrasing from memory):

Does anyone have a good synopsis of the latest
conclusions regarding the Chicxulub meteor crater in
Yucatan?  As an author, Bruce wants to include the
latest thoughts on this phenomenon.  General consensus
is that it might NOT be the reason for the extinction
of the dinosaurs.

As it is a major feature of the Maya area (and likely
influenced settlement patterns in the region -- see
the separate works of Richard Terry and Kevin Pope),
we found it a valid question for Aztlan.
