[Aztlan] Maya ruins found from space photo

Hi folks

That is a good photo but I don't think it comes from San Bartolo (I've
been there), and it's probably not a "lost Maya city". It looks like
it has been found and is in fact already consolidated and studied. If
you follow the link at Neatorama you will find the original NASA
article with space images more typical of what they are studying.

http://www.nasa.gov/vision/earth/lookingatearth/mayan_ruins.html

And there is a much higher resolution version of the typical image here:

http://earthobservatory.nasa.gov/Newsroom/NewImages/images.php3?img_id=17188

As the article tells us, they are studying something much more subtle
than the pyramids in the photo that was originally pointed to:

"They discovered a correlation between the color and reflectivity of
the vegetation seen in the images — their "signature," which is
captured by instruments measuring light in the visible and
near-infrared spectrums — and the location of known archaeological
sites."

Best
Dave
