edition of Durán's "History," published by Doris Heyden in 1994, was her
response to criticism of the 1964 edition for its attempts at "simplifying" Durán's
narrative. So the 1994 edition should be preferred if available. Horcasitas
would certainly have contributed to the revised edition if not for his
untimely death from lung cancer.
