I don't have the name of a Gloucester florist for those who want to  
send flowers; the Episcopal church ladies will do the arrangements in  
the Gloucester and Tallahassee churches.  Flowers would be very  
welcome in Louisiana.

For those who want to make a meaningful contribution in Kathryn's  
name, I have already put out $9000 US to get Kathryn back home, and  
there is more to come, so I am declaring myself a suitable charity.   
If that seems too crass to you, send flowers or make a contribution  
to a useful cause (the Democratic Party, Maya linguists, Tzotzil  
writers, etc.).

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the wonderful  
people who have flooded me with letters of condolence and tributes to  
Kathryn as a person, teacher and scholar.  As a cynical Mexican  
friend remarked, "You get the prizes after you're dead."
