[Aztlan] the term Anahuac

I have gone through both Simeon and Molina and
neither has Anahualt. In fact that is a spelling
I have never seen and would be hard pressed to
even begin to figure out what it means. Simeon
has the traditional gloss of Anahuac as the place
near water, saying that it designated not only
the Valley of Mexico but the Aztec realm
stretching from sea to sea. I find this latter to be disingenuous.

Curiously, Molina does not include Anahuac at
all. The only word he lists that is even related
is "anauacayotl" "things brought in from nearby
regions "cosas que se traen de tierras comarcanas."

I have near heard of "The Anawaka people" and in
a quick search of the literature could not find
any references. This post implies that the
mesoamerican peoples had a broad and general
knowledge of civilizations in South America, for
which I am unaware of any solid evidence.
