[Aztlan] Tenochtitlan or Mexico-Tenochtitlan??

Prof. John Schwaller is probably the authority here.
For what it may (or not) be worth, I would think the composite name
Mexico-Tenochtitlan would have been used as a double reference: the
first part defining it as the homeland of the mexica, while the second
was the actual name of the city, the traditional translation of which is
given as "Place of the Cactus Fruit ("tuna" in Spanish)." So perhaps the
name "Mexico-Tenochtitlan" could be glossed something like "Tenochtitlan
of the Mexica"?
