Regarding Prof. Schwaller's latest posting (see below), it is 
interesting to notice how much the old culture still pervades current 
speech in Mexico, even among people who are not indigenous. To this day, 
"chichi" (sorry, no long vowels) is a very common (albeit vulgar) way 
referring to a woman's breasts.
