Izapa Stela 7 is so badly erroded as of 1979, the "ïdentified" figured are very difficult to make out. They could be any god or human.

Interesting observations, Justin --- and certainly more research would
help clarify the identity of Itzam Yeh. But just to play devil's
advocate, doesn't Izapa 7 plausibly portray the "fall of 7 Macaw?" And
it's interesting to note that Izapa 25 seems to show Hun Ahaw beside a
world tree with a bird deity in the top of the tree, and another bird
deity on the standard carried by Hun Ahaw. Is it not possible that one
of these (7 Macaw?) represents the "false sun" of the old order (as the
Popol Vuh seems to suggest), while the other (Itzam Yeh?), associated
with pre-Classical rulers, represents the "true sun at zenith " of the
new order --- or such like? As I recall Bassie, "Maya Creator Gods" had
some interesting things to say about possible distinctions between Itzam
Yeh and 7 Macaw.
