it) is that the research at Uxbenká that lead to the discovery of the canoe
was funded by ...........

Probably they left it out because it really doesn't contribute anything to
the story (aside perhaps an ego boost or getting points for future grants.)
Imagine if the project was funded by individual contributors, then  would
each press release need to have individual contributors listed? But I guess
that's how the system 'works'
