I am dismayed/offended at the popularity of this thread and the degree of
tolerance that the moderators are exhibiting for it. Which of the following
is/ the reason/reasons for this?

   - It can and will be answered here?
   - the number of participants is great
   - The answer/discussion is crucial  to the mission statement of this
   forum
   - It is anthropology at its roots
   - It certainly deserves more time than the question of a "Protocol
   query" or rectangle measurements or questions of calendars.
   - It is fitting of a FAMSI grant

Don't get me wrong, I think the discussion is "interesting" to a point and I
know that when it no longer maintains my interest I will exercise my "delete
or save key" as is all of this lists members option.  My point is the
moderators need a better measuring stick for posts.  I say if the subject of
a post meets the criteria to be posted in the first place why not let the
readers decide on the length of its existence.

Moderators, be consistent towards posts that have made it to the list  or
"Get the hook"
