Listeros,

Marcos is generally correct in the main thrust of his argument.

I think the original post has confused the Maya and the Nahua legends
of suns. in general the Maya held to a 4 sun theory while the Nahua,
and Mexica, posited a 5 sun. In fact the so called Aztec calendar
sun stone is the representation of the fifth sun, Nahui Ollin, 4 Movement.

The Maya used an extremely accurate calendar for dating important
events, and for predicting others. But the Nahua, who also had an
accurate calendar system, did not focus quite so much on the passage
of time, and did not attribute anything other than a general date to
the beginnings and ends of the suns. Consequently according to the
most common narrative we have of the legend of the suns, the current
sun, 4 Movement (if we follow the pattern established in the earlier
suns) will end on 4 Movement. That, however, is a date that comes
around every 260 days. There is no indication, that I am aware of,
as to the year in which that particular 4 Movement will occur.
