[Aztlan] Alcoholic Drinks

That fermented pineapple juice (and pineapples are native to the New  
World) is called tepache in Mexico City and environs, and is a  
popular (in both senses) drink.  I lived one summer in a room above a  
small restaurant that served only tepache and pozole (the Central  
Mexican kind, not the Maya).  I assume from the name that this is a  
precolumbian beverage.
