Tzul Ahau (Mayan) sounds like the equivalent of Xolotl (Aztec), who is
associated with Venus as the Evening Star. Both Xolotl and Tzul Ahau are
considered dog deities. There's a reference to both deities in "Star Gods of
the Maya: Astronomy in Art, Folklore, and Calendars" by Susan Milbrath. (
