Ivan asked:
Not to distract attention from your main point, but
those of us who are big fans of the show need (not
merely want) to know: which episode?
Where in the episode was this bit of dialog?
----------------------------------
I guess I must publicly admit that it is in the SG-1
episode titled "The Crystal Skull" - and the dialogue
appears twice. Once when the "giant aliens" speak,
and again when Daniel Jackson's grandfather repeates
it in the lab.
While I am actually proud of the work I did on this
episode (including the help of Vicky Bricker), the
actors butchered the lines. It was very tough to
re-create an idiomatic expression that does not exist
in modern Maya.
And I would politely request that this not become a
main topic on Aztlan, since I think it would be a
diversion from our main goals for the listserv (but
I'm happy others might enjoy the episode - and would
welcome any comments off-list).
