Many of the pertinent questions posed by Barb were the subject of the
excellent 12th European Maya Conference, held in Geneva on December
3-8, 2007: "The Maya and Their Sacred Narratives: Text and Context of
Maya Mythologies" (with two workshops and a number of papers presented
at the Symposium focused on creation texts).

Additional information about the workshop leaders and their programs,
and
about the Symposium participants and their paper abstracts can be
found at
www.wayeb.org.

While papers presented at the 12th EMC probably won't be published
for a couple
of years (still well before 2012!), perhaps some of the speakers and/
or workshop
leaders or participants at that fine meeting could add comment here
in response
to Barb's questions.
