Although the glyph that ID's this person appears to be
the same, the entity below has two different styles of
clothing and headdresses.
In the ope, there is a blazing sun with four little
ones surounding it.
All encased in fire dots. Under the entities feet is
a symbol that VIllacorte says is on 23-B. Here the
text includes a moon element that may indicate an
eclipse (the deer haunch tied up) just after a three
fire bone.

Over the second (D-1 60-B) the compllimentary C-1
begins again with a sun but this time, it is green
(that may indicate a NEW sun or just the color of the
sun during a volcanic fire display). The second glyph
D-2 indicates a flying motion (to C-2) but D-3 is the
earth.

The bound captive is interesting since I ran into
Karen Bassie's Paddler Gods. A quote from Paul and
Paul is as follows:

******The notion that the looped cord over G-III's
nose was used to drill fire, and that it was also a
reference to the sparks created by a meteor may
explain a Tzíutujil belief about babies that are born
with their umbilical cords ^^^^looped around their
shoulder or neck.^^^^ This is viewed as a sign that
the child's spirit is a meteor (Paul and Paul
1975:709).***********

So with all the fiery dots and the bird headdress
coupled with the "serpent" feathers on top of the
entity at 60 B underneath the moving/flying element
over the earth, we may have a meteor not a humanoid
prisoner.

The serpent throne is probably the year (serpent) god.

58 shows not only the beginning of the "blazing sun
with four little ones" here identified as the Venus
glyph face, but also shows the unknown glyph in the
upper right that appears to be a water inundating a
person's head.

On page 61 the left side of the text has many fire
dotted glyphs and a sun glyph that ends with a sun in
the eye of the Macaw (Seven Macaw of the Popol Vuy?)
Snaggle tooth on top of one serpent is probably a sun
element here because the other serpent carries the
rabbit of the moon.

Knorozov's p. 68 of the Dresden (D39 in Villacorte)
shows the double fire torches A1, the flooding by the
"anciencia of the moon" goddess, The planet overhead
with the rain elements falling and on the bottom in
C-1 are two eclipses, one of the moon and the other of
the sun with the appropriate planets shown.

The D-68 in the Forstemann Edition shows the revolving
(figure 8 glyph) day/night, more than just blue. Is
the blue a nighttime sky here? The star mantle of the
monkey in A-3 shows many stars and over his head is
another double eclipse.

With all the sky implications, are we looking for a
returning meteor? or just a minor colorful display of
another exploding nova?
