[Aztlan] Ek' Bahlam site ?

Mark,

I was just there last month. The section that has the 96 glyphs and the
interesting capstone paintings is not open to the public. The stucco
murals are roped off, but visible. It is possible to climb almost to the
top of Structure 1, and the views are great! The balustrade glyphs were
being repaired and were partially covered. Work has begun to clear and
consolidate the southern mound, Structure 3, and it looks like clearing
work is beginning on the northern mound, Structure 2. Archaeologists
Victor Castillo Borges and Leticia Vargas de la Pena are working there
daily. When I was there a few years ago with my fresh copy of Alfonso
Lacadena's Texas workbook on Ek' B'alam, I spoke with the archaeologists
(and showed them the workbook that they had not yet seen), but the glyph
room was physically sealed and unavailable for access (to me).
