Ramiro,

The Clovis barrier was broken with the discoveries at Monte Verde.
See the links below to understand the importance of this discovery.

As far as the 40,000 year old footprints claim, archaeologists are
now very, very careful in accepting anyone's claim to anything
without considerable peer review of claims with scientific proof
cross-checked by many one against the other.

It took Tom Dillehay more than 15 years for his pre-Clovis claims at
Monte Verde to be accepted.

And the reason archaeologists are so cautious now is because there
was so much science fiction in the field in earlier years that was
accepted as fact that it misled many such as those positing Egyptian
contact etc.

Now, scientific analysts go over every claim with a fine tooth comb
to weed out the faulty claims.

The 40,000 year old footprint find already has scientific detractors
who have doubts about this claim. So it will take a long time and
more proof for this ever to be verified. And this is the way real
science should go forward.
