Isn't strange that a Maya-minded Aztlan List always
refer to a Gregorian date?

The main reason why AZTLAN does not suggest converting
all dates to the Maya Long Count is that this is not a
Maya-only list. Our topics include all native
cultures of the Americas. Additionally, many Maya
sites, areas and time periods did not use the Long
Count - and these locations have been anchored in time
using a variety of other techniques, such as ceramic
seriation, radiometric dating techniques (such as
radiocarbon), or ethnohistoric references, etc. Using
the Long Count also adds another layer of confusion
when performing cross-cultural comparisons (for
example, researching sites, features or artifacts
across Mesoamerica during the a certain time period).
However, Mayanists should feel free to use the LC
dates in their posts if they so desire.
