[Aztlan] Portrayal of Mesoamericans through film...

Hi Eric,

One film that has not received nearly as much
attention as it should is "La Otra Conquista" (The
Other Conquest).  We held a special screening of this
film at Tulane University, and invited the
writer/director to attend (funded in part by the Latin
American Studies department of Tulane).  He gave a
wonderful lecture to the audience, and might be
willing to answer your questions directly (his
production company has an email address on their
homepage:  www.theotherconquest.com).  Filmed on
location at Xochicalco, this film provides a more
sensitive perspective on the "spiritual conquest" of
the Aztecs.  However, the first trick will be finding
a copy on DVD.  I have yet to see it released for home
viewing.  If you find it, please let me know where I
can buy a copy.
