[Aztlan] Olmec Tsunamis

I know nothing about those studies, but I live at Coatzacoalcos, this is the
coast, not "near" to the cost, I think this is an ambiguous expression,
¿what does "near" means?

Surely, the olmec settlemen nearer to the cost is La Venta and is about 25
Km. far from the shores, and if you take a sight from the leader hill of La
Venta, you can see that is sorounded by little hills, then, you can be sure
that they are not in risk to be destroyed by any tsunami (there are no
tsunamis in the Gulf coast).

But the inundations provoked by a hurricane are a risk, then they
constructed platfoms in order to avoid this risk.

Abour simmilarities between Olmec sculpture and other cultures, I beleive
that, if there is not another archaeological evidence, is easier to explain
these cultures as natural from the region, we have to hear Occam's razor

Cheers
Javier
