On a base of tons of stacked serpentine blocks, sand, clay and stucco maybe...at La Venta, pivot a basalt column with large wood beams tied to each end loaded with earth or stone. Leverage undoubtedly was mastered by the Olman, through time they must have passed all knowledge to new groups, the Maya. If there are no drawings or representations of how ancient man moved stone, does it mean he didn't; and at Teotihuacan since we have no large wheeled cargo carrying devices represented, does it mean they didn't use them? A lot of the mysteries involve unthinkable methods, or very obvious techniques that just never occur to us, though its right before our eyes.
