Nick,

I can not answer your question, but I can tell you that the Hindu
Calendar also began about 3100 BCE, and if my memory serves me
correctly, that date is 3104 BCE.
It's been some time since I have conducted research on the Hindu
Calendar at the Library of Congress Office of Scholarly Programs, but
if you want to contact me off the list that would be fine. I have
several articles on the subject. The various correlations of flood
myths around the world interest me as well and there is wealth of
material in Sanskrit Literature.

Regards,

Walter O. Koenig
