Hello Listeros,

Since the Texas Maya Meetings and Hieroglyphic
Workshops are almost upon us, its time to start making
arrangements for accommodating our living indigenous
Maya guests who annually participate in the meetings. 
As the Friends of the Maya Newsletter states, these
interested Maya scholars and individuals continue to
seek the opportunity to learn more about their ancient
writing system and share it within their communities
for future generations.  It is only fitting that these
Maya descendants of the ancients be able to read,
write and understand this beautiful communication
system of their ancestors.

The newsletter is dated November 2006 and it is full
of great information about the meetings, about the
living Maya participants and their activities since
the last meeting.  There is also a very nice section
with pictures about our beloved Dr. Kathryn Josserand,
a great Mayanist and scholar who passed away last
year.  "Eternal be her memory."
