[Aztlan] Olmecs and Turtles

Dear David and Fiona,
I don't know if there is a written story, but in the late classic God N can
be seen using a turtle carapace as his home; (see 2980 and 2980b in
Portfolio). Turtles, of course, have an astronomical significance; (see 4880
in Portfolio. In the early classic the turtle can be seen in conjunction
with a water bird; (see 4876a in portfolio.
The most common occurrence of a being coming out of the turtle carapace is,
of course, the resurrection of The Maize God; (in the vase database enter
1492, this is only one example.

I'm sure that I once read an account of where people coming out of the backs
of turtles was an important event  possibly among the Olmecs. Does anyone
know were i could get more information on this story.
