Subject: [Aztlan] Request for Maya book recommendation
Here are a few very worthwhile and engaging reads, though they're not
recent:
Schele, Linda, & Freidel, David 1990 A Forest of Kings, The Untold Story
of the Ancient Maya; William Morrow and Company, Inc.
-- classic prerequisite
Freidel, David, Schele, Linda, & Parker, Joy 1993 Maya Cosmos, Three
Thousand Years on the Shaman's Path ; 2001 Perennial Press
-- emphasizes connections between ancient and living
Drew, David, 1999 The Lost Chronicles of the Maya Kings ; Paperback edition
2000, Phoenix - Harper Collins Publishers
- - good portable overview of past to present.
