[Aztlan] Iguana vs Dragon

  Folks:

I have a similar question:
   
  When did the iguana lose its symbolism in Mayalands and become a dragon?
   
  It seems that Itzamna Ye was the god of the Iguana house and Maya homes had a central post that was called the tail of the Iguana (similar to the Nuttall and Isapa versions where the head of the animal is below ground and the tail is a tree.)
   
  Eric T hompson was the first to ID the iguana, when did it change its importance?
