I would suspect that the "positions" selected for the various carvings were
chosen by Lorenzo Colli and his pal
Felipe Chan one day after their gerente told them to, "Pick up all that crap
and put it somewhere," back in 1964.
Needless to say, Lorenzo and Felipe have displayed no further interest in
archeology and are enjoying a peaceful retirement in their village of Xul
surrounded by grand and great-grandchildren.
