IMHO, the quintessential quatrefoil is Chalcatzingo
Monument 9 (a full-form, 3 dimensional portal -
represented "halved" in Chalcatzingo Monument 1, a
relief sculpture clearly depicting the half-quatrefoil
as a cave or entrance).
I have many shots of Chalcaztingo on my website,
including monument 1 (URL below), but Monument 9 is in
a museum in the states. See the second link for a
small image and short discussion of that monument.
Both monuments are illustrated and discussed in David
C. Grove's "Ancient Chalcatzingo".
