Hi Everybody,
   
  The Tripod plate, pictured as Plate 122 in "The Blood of Kings (Linda Schele and Mary Ellen Miller)," is one of my favorite portals. One could easily picture an Ancient Maya, gazing into this plate filled with dark water, waiting for the spirits to appear. These microcosms are sufficient in addressing symbology familiar with the Underworld spirits, gaining access to their protection and direction, in the crucial task of leading a Maya city/state.
   
  It is my suggestion that these portals actually do exist and can be opened by certain individuals. Bloodline is very important in the accessing of these portals. That is why the Maya took so much care in documenting the proven bloodline of the King in their accession monuments. Proper positioning of the cosmos at the birth and accession of the King was evidence to his inherited bloodline.
