You can find a brief reference to prehispanic
colanders in my Arqueología de Xochipala, Guerreo
(1990), UNAM. My type "Coladera" (p. 185 and
plate XXVIIa) occurs in the Magueyitos phase
(A.D. 900 +) and possibly earlier in the Xaltipan
phase (more or less Middle Classic), although
this appearance is not as certain.
