Greetings, Listeras y Listeros -
a brief update on the Hieroglyphic Workshop coming up this weekend:
we now have the location, which is Evans Hall room 114
walk-ins are welcome, but leave sufficient time to find parking
- Texas State is not the sleepy little college it once may have been - if
it ever was.
Kent has asked me to indicate that exact cash and checks are
accepted, but, sorry, no credit cards (there's a cash machine nearby, I
believe).
if you have any questions, feel free to reply to me at this
email address.
thanks,
Peter
Below I repeat the basic info:
APOCALYPSE NOW? No, not till next weekend:
A 2-day weekend workshop on Maya Hieroglyphic Writing
Will be presented at Texas State University (formerly

No previous experience with glyphs is necessary.
Day one will focus on an introduction to the glyphs,
with participants breaking into small groups for hands-on
practice
Day Two will focus on the much-discussed Maya view of time
and the universe,
with Dr. MacLeod presenting new insights and understandings
on these issues,
as seen through a reading of glyphic texts.
