Several years ago, a colleague of mine from UC
Riverside named Karl Lorenzen pointed out to me that
one of the figurines from Jaina that is on display at
the MNA (Mexico, D.F.) appears to be holding a "wound
up" hammock.  The position of this definitely "netted"
piece of clothwork is exactly the way we put our
hammocks away today when we take them down.  Something
worth looking into, no?
