First of all, it cannot be "copantl" in Nahuatl because that
construction is impossible. The closest it could be is "copantli." I
have done a little bit of looking around and do not find that word in
any of the usual dictionaries. The closest word for bridge in Nahuatl is
"quappantli," according to Molina. In standardized orthography that
would be "cuauhpantli." It also means a stretcher, brining us back to
our discussion of hammocks.
