Dear Ms: Schele:
I read your comments in the Aztalan Journal regarding suspension Bridge
construction by Maya Engineers.. I have been the primary researcher for the
virtual reconstruction of the Maya Bridge at Yaxchilan. I have written
numerous scientific papers on Maya technology and delivered same at
international Conferences.
I really appreciate your comments defending the maya suspension bridge
capabilities. I , also, have been confronted by Inka scholars who insist the
Inka were the sole pre-Columbian culture to construct suspension bridges.
I have recently presented papers at the CAA Archaelogical conference in
Berlin and world Enviromental conference in Los Angles. The papers deal with
the amazing technological achievements of the Maya.
I would be pleased to send you copies of the papers and the PowerPoint
presentations relating to Maya technology, and the Suspension bridge at
Yaxchilan in particular. Please respond by email.
Regards:
Jim
