A while back the following  was a URL presented on this list serve.

It dealt with later maps (1600' tp 1800's.)
Apparently no one recognizes two small refferences found on other maps and books.:

1. A cartographer by  the name of Hormanno, B (1725)  In Lucoviciann N. Anglicae that  that has Novae Biscayae, placed north of Mexico City  But the original date seemed to have been altered.

2. Diaz de Castillo, (1956) The Discovery and Conquest of Mexico. 1517-1521,  p. 267, The Captain (Gonzalo) de Sandoval) who was now at Cempoala and the people he had brought with him came from another province, named Biscaya and . . . . . spoke like the Otomis of this land of Mexico.
