Listeros,
The LA Times reports this morning that the people who made the
fermented chocolate at Puerto Escondido, Honduras had lived in an
agrarian society there going back to 2000 BC and that they may have
been pre-cursors to the Olmecs. The previous oldest chocolate find
was at Colha, Belize in 600 BC. The researchers also believe that the
date will be pushed back much further.
