Santamaria's Diccionario de mejicanismos (one of the best sources for  
Nahuatl borrowings, especially plant names) has:

tesguate.  Del azt. tetl, piedra, y huatli, bledos.  Nombre vulgar de  
varias plantas melastomáceas, como el capulincillo o nihua  
(Canostegia xalapensis), el totopozole (Miconia laevigata), y otras.
