[Aztlan] Mirrored glyphs

Hello Randa and Justin,
thanks for the FAMSI link to "The Sitter Panels." Kerr's photo archive is great. I have been looking a long time for a photo of this panel (Mayer 1995: Vol.4, Plate 258).
The panel numbered K4614D is mentioned in Joel Palka's paper "Left/Right Symbolism in Ancient Maya Iconography,'(2002), Figure 8, page 431. Palka maintains that the entire panel is carved in reverse and features a glyph block of reversed text and an image of Bird Jaguar. Palka also suggest that the unprovienced panel is from Yaxchilan.
Speaking of Yaxchilan, does anybody know who was the first archaeologist or researcher to recognize that the glyphs on Lintel 25 were reversed? And were these the first Maya text to be seen in reverse?
