It's unclear to me how isotopic evidence of a change in diet indicates
"fattening up," since isotopic parameters provide indications of what, not how
much, was being consumed.  Granted, meat has more fat than most vegetables, but
this still does not strike me as unequivocal and some very harsh judgement
about Inca sacrificial rites has spread in popular media from these findings.
