[Aztlan] Maya instruments for carving and observing stars

  The reason for writting you is that I have been searching the web for some information about the instuments that the Mayas used before the Spanish invasion to carve (stone, wood, etc.) and instruments for observing the stars.  I recall that in the year 2004 at the Maya Meetings in Austin at UT, there was a person who gave a talk about the instruments that were used to carve stone and wood, and he also showed some examples, but I do not remember his name.
   
  The great favor that I ask is that if you know of some source where I can find said information, or of someone who has done a study on this subject, please, communicate with me.  This is part of my education, and desire to know the history of the ancient inhabitants of the of the land of Paxil Kayala'.

  El motivo de escribirles es:
  He estado buscando por la red alguna información sobre los instrumentos que utilizaron los ,mayas antes de la invasión española, para tallar (piedras, madera, etc.) e instrumentos para observar los astros. Recuerdo que, en el año 2004, en los maya meetings en Austin en la UT, hubo una persona que dio una conferencia sobre los instrumentos que se usaron para tallar piedras y madera y presentó unos ejemplares también, sin embargo no recuerdo su nombre.
   
  El gran favor que les pido, si saben de alguna fuente donde pueda encontrar dicha información o de alguien que halla hecho algún estudio sobre este tema, por favor, les ruego me comuniquen, es parte de mi formación y la ansiedad de conocer la historia de los antiguos habitantes de las tierras de Paxil Kayala'.
