What Henry write is, of course correct. But just because the Mexica
believed it existed does not necessarily mean that it is true. There is a
line that exists between widely held beliefs and what serious scholars
accept as true. In this case, Aztlan was a powerful image in Nahua and
Mexica thought but the consensus of opinion among scholars of the field
is there is no credible evidence that such a place really existed.
