[Aztlan] Interesting glyphs in Ruinas El Rey, Cancun

Vandalism is in the eyes of the beholder. My study village had a large
temple in its center up until the early 1970s when, as goes the story, a
government road crew arrived with plans to connect what had been an isolated
settlement with the highway towns -- meaning services such as medical as
well easy access to wage jobs.

The citizens of the village happily tore the temple down. Many of its stones
were used as roadbed and some were hauled away to be used in stone walls. A
few were simply left in people's yards.

Perhaps some residents objected but I doubt anyone chained himself to a
bulldozer much less marched in protest.

Asi es.
