I don't know about Mesoamerican perspectivism, but it would seem likely as there is such a belief among some Hopi. There are other northern American Indian peoples who have this knowledge, or belief, as well. My Cherokee "grandfather" talked about it and one day he took me to a place where one can see the "deer people."
