I received more than ten emails in response to my question about the number 520 and I want to thank everyone who offered ideas.  Also, because there was variety in the suggestions as to 520, I thought I'd share the several answers:

10 X 52 year cycles

2 X 260

two periods of Venus's invisibility

the period in which 3 lunar nodes are commensurated

the duration of the third sun per Ixtlilxochitl's first Toltec Relacion = 1560 (520 X 3)
